Artistic Associate Pavel Fomin

The principal teacher for Florida West Ballet, Mr. Fomin is also the Principal Ballet Master of Sarasota Ballet.  He was born in the Ukraine and received his ballet training at the Odessa Ballet School and the Kirov Ballet in St. Petersburg.  As a principal dancer, Mr. Fomin danced all the leading roles in classical and contemporary repertoire.  He rose quickly to the position of Principal Ballet Master.  Mr. Fomin graduated from the Moscow State University of Theatrical Arts in 1990 with a Masters in Pedagogy of classical ballet.  Since joining Sarasota Ballet, Mr. Fomin has staged Paquita, Giselle, and many of the great Pas de Deux.  He coaches the leading dancers and oversees standards of the corp de ballet.  Mr. Fomin has staged Don Quixote, Faust, Swan Lake, and Paquita for Florida West Ballet.

Darya Fedotova

Darya trained at the Kiev Ballet Academy.  Upon graduation, she danced with the National Ballet Theatre of the Ukraine and toured nine European countries.  She later joined the Classical Ballet of Paris under the direction of Janettee Jake.  Her repertoire includes soloist roles in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Giselle, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Paquita, Mermaid, and Sleeping Beauty.  She has danced principal roles in Scheherazade, Dying Swan, and Vadim Fedotov’s Edith Piaf, Esmerelda, and Cinderella.  Prior to joining the Sarasota Ballet, Ms. Fedotova was with the Southern Ballet Theatre in Orlando for four years.  She has performed as a guest artist with the Cincinnati Orchestra and the Russian Ballet of America directed by Vadim Fedotov.  She has also taught Classical Ballet, Pointe, Character, and Variation classes at Kiev Ballet Academy, Southern Ballet Theatre School, Russian Academy of Ballet, Orlando City Ballet, and Ballet Stars of Orlando. Darya is currently with Sarasota Ballet as a soloist.
